Two of three charges against community organizer are dropped

Early today the state attorney’s office declined to prosecute community organizer Ben Frazier and another man after their arrest in December at a Jacksonville City Council meeting.
The men had been charged with trespassing and resisting arrest. Frazier was there to call for removing Confederate monuments during the public comment portion of the meeting and refused to leave the podium when his allotted time was up. The judge ordered the two to pay fines of $50 each on a third charge of violating a public decorum ordinance, for which the judge withheld adjudication.
