Taqueria CINco in 5 Points, Jacksonville, Florida
Tuesday is their grand opening and they are on a mission is to bring fresh food and delicious drinks to the people of 5 Points and beyond.
Taqueria CINco is a collaboration of local restaurateurs, Eddy Escriba, Marco Monroy and Matt Kemper. They have launched a number of successful concepts in Jax, including Burrito Gallery.
Escriba and Monroy were original concept creators of Burrito Gallery in 2004, and helped build the chain until 2015, when they left to pursue other goals. Matt has been an established chef in the Beaches area; KC Crave and Mezza Restaurant and Bar, among others.
Escriba traveled to Mexico City and Arizona, where he gained inspiration for the foods behind the restaurant. He brought that inspiration back with him to Jacksonville in 2018. Taqueria CINco is the fruit of that inspiration.
Taqueria CINco is similar to a bodega, or small food store. It has a casual feel and family atmosphere, an ideal space to experience an authentic representation of the Mexican Taqueria concept.
Taqueria CINco features a seasonal menu inspired by local fresh ingredients, people and places. Their tacos are served on 100% whole kernel corn masa with lime, cilantro, onions and traditional garnishes.
The tacos are gluten friendly and Vegan & Vegetarian options are available.
