Gingerbread Extravaganza
Ongoing thru December 23, 2017
This fundraising event is fun for the whole family, featuring dozens of gingerbread creations made by professionals and amateurs, as well as the Festival of Trees by the Junior League of Jacksonville Sustainers. It’s all at the Jacksonville Historical Society’s Old St. Andrews.
Suggested donation of $5 for adults and $3 for children with proceeds to local historical education and historic preservation programs.
Next door, be sure to also check out the Merrill Museum House, a 19th century historian home, dressed up for the holidays.
Downtown Dazzle
Ongoing through New Year’s Eve 5:30 PM · Jacksonville Children’s Chorus
The Jacksonville Children’s Chorus (JCC) is proud to present its third annual downtown holiday celebration by illuminating the outside of its downtown office, located at 225 East Duval Street (First United Methodist Church) with festive lights synchronized to recorded songs of the season performed by JCC. Holiday, Christmas and Hanukkah songs will be broadcast on 94.5 FM radio for onlookers to enjoy.
Downtown Dazzle begins Friday, November 24, 2017 and continues through New Year’s Eve. Each night, 20-minute presentations will begin at 5:30 p.m. and conclude at 9:30 p.m. The synchronized lights designed by Darren Hufty, who along with Miller Electric, bring the building and the downtown block to life. Holiday Bicycle Ride 2017

Join your friends and neighbors for this Springfield holiday tradition – the Holiday Bicycle Ride. It’s a leisurely evening bicycle ride through the Historic District to enjoy the lights and spectacle of the holidays. Kids are encouraged, as are bike decorations!
Meet at bandstand in Klutho Park (corner of W. 3rd & Silver) at 6pm, and the ride should end around 8pm. Most of the neighborhood will be covered during the ride. *All riders are encouraged to have a bike light & safety gear.
