Tenikka’s Books for Kids

Tenikka Hughes is an evening anchor at Action News Jax. She anchors the 5, 6 and 11 p.m. weekday newscasts on CBS47 and the 6:30 and 10 p.m. newscasts on FOX30. She is also the founder of Tenikka’s Books for Kids, an annual effort to collect book donations for children who participate in the Jacksonville Public Library’s Summer Learning Program

All eligible books will be given out to children enrolled in the programs so that they can have reading materials of their own. You can donate books at any Jacksonville Public Library location from now until March 12.
Here are all the ways you can donate:

  • Donate books at any Jacksonville Public Library location
  • Drop books off at the Action News Jax studios (11700 Central Pkwy #2, Jacksonville, FL 32224)
  • An Amazon registry is available this year for people who want to buy books online.
  • You can visit the San Marco Books and More store to purchase and drop off books
  • If you have any additional questions about the drive, please send an email to TB4K@actionnewsjax.com

This Amazon link will take you to a list of children’s books recommended by the Jacksonville Public Library. When you purchase books using the Amazon link, select “Jacksonville Public Library’s Gift Registry Address” as the shipping address and the books will be shipped directly to the library.
