Pizza Fest 4

Pizza Fest 4! Damn! What a meal that was! An all you could eat musical buffet!
Plus burlesque!
You could survive on music and burlesque alone for three days. But we didn’t have to because there was also Pizza! Unlimited Five Star Pizza!  And beer! The beer was limited only by the size of your wallet and whether your bartender thought you were a danger to yourself or others. Thirty bands, a burlesque show, unlimited pizza, and beer! Also someone snuck in a few boxes of donuts.  Donuts at Pizza Fest, genius I tell you, genius.

What an event! The best value for your entertainment dollar in Jax today.
The only thing better would be more of the same. Don’t kill me, Miss Parker and Scotchy Scotch Scotch LLC., maybe add another day? Pizza Fest Pre Party on Thursday, Pizza Fest on Friday and Saturday and Pizza Fest After Party on Sunday? I’ll leave that up to Miss Parker and Scotchy Scotch Scotch LLC. they do the things. I just write about the things. Let me get back to that.

Most of the local music festivals cost you an arm and a leg and you’re outside, in the scorching Florida sun. Pizza Fest brings all that music to you from air conditioned comfort, and if you want to go outside, both Nighthawks and Shantytown Pub have wonderful outside patios.
Advance tickets were just $8 a night or $17 for the weekend pass, which included the Pre Party at Shantytown. As I mentioned above, Pizza Fest is the best value for your entertainment dollar in Jax today.

Pizza Fest was stuffed full of good people, both in the bands and in the audience, as well as the sound booth and behind the bar. The music was amazing, with more styles, techniques and genres than most people have the opportunity to see live in a year.

The beer was cold and the pizza was hot and fresh, as were the burlesque  performers. It’s probably not  politically correct to say that today, but it’s true and I’ve already typed it.  But seriously, the Burlesque performers!  In an age of instant gratification, where one can see full nudity with just a swipe of the screen, Burlesque takes us on a journey to a time where there was mystery, glamour and wonderment in the supple moves of the burlesque dancer.

Speaking of Burlesque, Miss Parker has her  Punk Rock Burlesque show coming up later this month, March 31st. Get your ticket early. I did.

Pictures and video will be up soon, both on this website as well as our facebook page.
