Art Walk Wednesday May 7, 2014 at Burrito Gallery, 8:00 pm. Jacksonville’s favorite sons and daughters of Prometheus are at it again. This time Molotov Cocktail Party is setting Downtown on fire! Actually they do that every time they perform. The difference for this performance is that the City of Jacksonville has caught on to the fun as well. This month’s Art Walk has a “Downtown is on Fire” theme, recognizing Downtown history and the hottest place to hang in the River City.
Ground zero for all the heat will be just outside Burrito Gallery as Jacksonville’s premiere fire performance troupe, Molotov Cocktail Party sets the night on fire.
“Molotov Cocktail. n. an elementary incendiary weapon, usually a bottle of petrol with a short-delay fuse or wick. Party. n. a social gathering for pleasure, often held as a celebration.”

A sensual dance of performer and flame, the two become one as they take the audience on a journey. To some it is a spiritual journey, to others a cerebral one, as many different journeys as there are people present. One common thread, when the flame is extinguished for the night all are thankful they came. And as they leave, the lucky ones realize they carry that flame within themselves.
