JEA will not cut power or water for non pay through Sept. 18th

Jacksonville residents struggling to pay their utility bills will have one less thing to worry about in coming months: JEA won’t turn off their water and electricity as they contend with the summer heat.

The utility announced that it would stop disconnecting service to customers with delinquent payments through Sept. 18th (Unpaid balances will still be due after the grace period is over).

JEA says it’s trying to help customers swamped by inflation and rising energy bills due to the hot weather.

During the grace period, JEA also won’t charge additional late fees. And starting in October, the public utility won’t charge fees for paying bills by credit or debit cards. Here’s more information on payment assistance for JEA customers. (WJCT News)
