Hemming Park will be zombiefied this Sunday as Jacksonville celebrates the 8th annual World Zombie Day. These Zombies won’t be looking for food, instead all zombies are encouraged to bring two or more non perishable food items, clothing or toys to benefit Hubbard House.
The walk is hosted by Jax Zombie Walk.
There is no charge to walk but there will be artists, vendors, food carts and trucks for your shopping and eating pleasure. Eat the food, not the vendors. There will also be professional photographers available to create a permanent memory of you in all your zombie glory or gory or gory glory.
This year’s theme will be Carnival of the Dead and will include a midway of zombie games and prizes; costume contests, a brain eating contest, and a blood refreshing station. The carnival will be held on October 18th, 2015 at Hemming Park from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. The walk will take place at 4 p.m.
This years event is dedicated to the memory of local legend, Grace Katich, AKA Lola Ivelsy. Without her tireless efforts the Zombie Walk would not be the success it has become.
Tentative Schedule: 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Costume Contest Registration. 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Games / Contests. 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. Costume Contests 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. Walk. 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. Raffles.
Entertainment: Avarice Bedlam, Agoreable Zombie Sisters / Controlled Choas Productions, Darkstiltwalker Entertainment and DJ Rob Boggs.
