It’s raining love at Rain Dogs

Christina Wagner is the proprietor of Rain Dogs. She is a talented singer, songwriter, and guitarist. She was Jax Examiner’s first Neighbor to Know, and is one of the nicest people you will ever meet, in this or any other city.

Ms. Wagner was recently hit with multiple waves of bad news. At the top of the list, as with many of us, is  Covid-19 and the closing of her business, aside for limited curbside pickup. Rain Dogs Revenue dropped by 80% while lease and other business expenses were still asking 100%. That coupled with some down and dirty, underhanded backstabbing dealings perpetrated against her, has left Ms. Wagner in dire financial straits.

Jax Examiner intends to do a full on investigative dive into those dirty deeds in a separate story. This particular story is one of love.

Ms. Wagner is, and has always been, the first to help others, while seldom, if ever, asking for help herself.
Multiple friends had suggested a fundraiser of sorts only to be shot down by Ms. Wagner “others are in worse shape than me”

Her friend, Alyssa wasn’t going to take no for an answer though.
She messaged her friend with “You can hate me later, just let us help you in the meantime. Love you”

Alyssa set up a GoFundMe which has already reached its goal, but don’t let that stop you from chipping in  $5, $10, $20, whatever your heart and your wallet can agree on. If you have heart but no wallet, please share the GoFundMe.

Friends, neighbors, customers are letting their love of Christina Wagner rain down.  These are the actions of love, kindness, generosity, and good will that will help our city, and our nation, weather the storm that Coronavirus has set against us.

Rain dogs. is the first bar I ever went to in Jacksonville. I immediately fell in love with everything especially Christina Wagner, she quickly became family to me. She has made her bar a safe place for all people to come enjoy art, music and express themselves. She constantly gives every part of herself to everyone, now it’s time we take care of our family! Rain Dogs has been there for you, now it’s time to be there for them. Please donate if you can and please share!!!

Keep it going, she more than deserves a damned break! She’s hosted so many benefits for others. She’s had sleepless weeks running her business, dealing with legal issues that were not her damned fault, being there for everyone but herself. Christina Wagner is an amazing human who needs us.
~Renee

Christina Wagner is both an icon and a treasure here in Jacksonville. She opened the doors to Raindogs after a hurricane so that people like me could charge our phones and get AC. She’s kept a pocket of old 5 points in a newer neighborhood. And she needs our help.

For those on my friends that don’t know Christina Wagner, if you can help me out by throwing some dime her way. Our whole community has always had her support. Please throw the love back her way

Rain Dogs and Christina have provided our great city with an amazing place to be an artist, musician, mover and shaker, drinker and socialite. Where else would we do what we do without Rain dogs.? I”m forever grateful for the work, the space to play, and the countless hours of fufilling moments that this space and our gracious and fearless leader Christina Wagner have brought us. She is a pillar of this bohemian community of ours. Lets keep this little slice of awesome alive.

Because this woman has done so much for so many. Has been fucked over and keeps getting up and going. She’s poured love into our local community and frankly its fucking time we’ve poured it back. This was organized by her best friend Alyssa Key-Dusablon because she is not going to do this for herself. She needs help, like she has helped so many other people countless times. Anything you can do will help. Share the hell out of this. Help us help our lovely Christina Wagner.

If you feel motivated to do one random act of kindness today, I ask that you please let it be this!I know there are tons of small business owners taking hits and a lot are having the hardest time just trying to stay afloat, not to mention being able to find a way to recoup what they’ve lost themselves. My lovely lady, Christina Wagner, is one of them. She has done so much for this city, and there are so many who don’t even know what a profound effect she has had in helping to keep our city booming (especially in Riverside)! After all, she is the Mayor of Riverside! #WagsForMayor

She helps keep it filled with the arts, she’s an advocate for the underdog, and she is one of the most motivated and hard-working people I have ever known. She pours her heart and soul into everything she does, and she does it all while wearing the most beautiful smile. Some of you probably don’t even realize the joy you have recieved yourself due to her. Also, she was far too humble to ask for any help herself, so we made it happen for her!!! Now, go help my woman out, and then please share!!
