Gibson joins the mayoral race

Longtime state legislator Audrey Gibson is running for mayor of Jacksonville. Gibson, a Democrat who spent 20 years in the Florida House and Senate before being term-limited out this year, announced her candidacy this week. Her competition so far includes Donna Deegan, currently the only other Democrat in the race, and City Council members Al Ferraro and LeAnna Cumber on the GOP side. (Florida Politics)
