Mayor Lenny Curry has just announced that effective 5pm today, all Duval County beaches will close. Police and lifeguards will patrol the beaches for enforcement, violators will face trespassing violations.
Mayor Curry: “We know people aren’t going to like it, but we have to operate with speed when we have data that tells us that this is what we should do and make decisions that are going to keep people safe.”
