Attention comic and zine makers and fans! Join us in downtown Jax for the first Duval Comic and Zine Fest – coming to the Main Library on Saturday, October 22 from 12 – 5 p.m.
Make, trade and READ zines! Meet over four dozen local, self-published creators, learn how to make your own zine, and attend your choice of three Lit Chat author events including an extra special interview with Eisner Award-winning cartoonist and illustrator Jim Rugg at 3:30 p.m.! His comics have been published by Marvel, DC, Image Comics, AdHouse Books, New York magazine, Dark Horse Comics, Titan Books, and Fantagraphics. He’ll be interviewed by Badr Milligan of the Short Box Podcast!
We’ll also have local poet, teacher, independent journalist and zinester Kiana Morgan from 12:30 – 1 p.m. and Emma Jensen – a comic artist, editor and Assistant Executive Director of Sequential Artists Workshop (in Gainesville) from 1:30 – 2 p.m.
