Art in the Urban Core: A Walking Tour

Part of the  Cultural Council of Greater Jacksonville
Public Art Week 2018
Friday from 11:30 AM – 2:30 PM.

Over 50 public art installations will be featured during the Art in the Urban Core: A Walking Tour in downtown Jacksonville’s urban core. The tour will highlight both private and public art installations from murals, mosaics, and sculpture to designed traffic cabinets and sculptural bike racks. Wayne Wood will also provide a historical overview of Jacksonville including architectural achievements and notable sites in the downtown core. Placed within public view, the tour provides an opportunity to view a selection of public art installations fabricated by artists in a variety of visual art media. Sites for new and upcoming Art in Public Places projects will also be highlighted on the tour.

The tour will begin at 11:30 AM, outside the entrance to the Times Union Center for the Performing Arts.
