Friday September, 28, 2012 The Phoenix Taproom is proud to host Professor Whiskey’s roaring twenties pre-prohibition party.
This event is being sponsored by Batch 19, a pre-prohibition style lager.
In 1919, beer was banned. Barrels were broken, breweries went under and recipes were lost. When beer came back 14 years later, it was never the same. That is until now, because in 2004, an old logbook was discovered in the brewery archives dating back before 1919. Batch 19 is inspired by the last batches of beer brewed before Prohibition made it illegal.
Batch 19 is now in Jacksonville and they are ready to party. To get the party started they’ve selected The Phoenix Taproom, Professor Whiskey’s Traveling Bizarre Bazaar and the Molotov Cocktail Party!
And guess what? You’re invited!
The Professor will have all your favorites, and a new surprise performer!
Molotov Cocktail Party will bring the heat and set your night afire! They will also be bringing some hot little magnets for just a buck each.
A little burlesque, a little vaudeville, hula hoops, songs from an angel, beautiful women and decent enough looking men playing with fire and ice cold old style beer!
Not a bad kick off to your weekend.
The 77d’s will be in the house doing old jazz standards, and a few special numbers for the performers.
$7.00 at the door, $1.00 off with flyer, and $1.00 off with the password. Check daily on the PWTBB facebook page for the password.
$2.00 Pints of Batch 19 all night.
Batch 19 was inspired by an authentic pre-Prohibition recipe, this bold, hoppy and balanced lager derives its bold taste by using a rare combination of hops including Hersbrucker and Strisslespalt. Hersbrucker hops provide herbal notes and Strisslespalt hops deliver notes of blackcurrant. “We are aware of no brewer in America who uses this combination today.” Deep-gold in color, naturally filtered and unpasteurized.
