The Veterans Day Parade will start Thursday at 11:01 a.m. at North Jefferson and Water streets downtown. From there the parade heads east on Water to Laura Street, then north to James Weldon Johnson Park and turns left on Duval Street and then left on Hogan Street to Adams Street. It will end at Lee Street.
Spectators are encouraged to show their support by waving flags and wearing red, white and blue.
The city of Jacksonville and The Law Offices of Ron Sholes, P.A. are inviting people to pay tribute to members of the military past and present at the annual Veterans Day Parade.
The grand marshals will be Mayor Lenny Curry, Sheriff Mike Williams, veterans Alton Yates and Deloris Quaranta as well as two of Jacksonville’s oldest veterans, 103-year-old Sollie Mitchell and 100-year-old Daniel Stanley.
Others participating will be active-duty service men and women, retired military units, veteran groups and high schools. Decorative floats and vehicles will slowly ride along.
