42nd Annual Arts Awards

Join the Cultural Council of Greater Jacksonville on Saturday, May 5 for the 42nd Annual Arts Awards.  This event serves as the agency’s annual fundraiser and an opportunity to showcase and celebrate Northeast Florida’s arts and cultural sector.

The Cultural Council recognize the barriers to entry created by a high-dollar, big-ticket fundraiser.  Funds raised are used to further their role in the community and serve the agency’s mission, which includes being inclusive and creating multiple points of access to Northeast Florida’s arts and cultural sector.  In the past, patrons of the Arts Awards have generously provided additional tickets to artists and arts professionals who otherwise could not afford to attend the event. If you’re interested in sponsoring an artist or arts professional, please contact Tony Allegretti at tony@culturalcouncil.org. Additionally, If you are an artist who would like to be considered for patron tickets or reduced price tickets if they become available, please contact Tony Allegretti at tony@culturalcouncil.org.  Please include a brief description of the work you do as an artist or arts professional and how that work impacts the community, if applicable. This year’s events will be held at the East Club inside TIAA Bank Field, formerly EverBank Field, home of the Jacksonville, Jaguars.  Master of Ceremonies: Al Letson
Art Direction & Installation: Castaño Group
Performance & Entertainment: The Chris Thomas Band. Willie Evans Jr & GeeXella.A personal note from Abel Harding
Chair, Host Committee 2018 Arts Awards.

On behalf of the Host Committee of the 42nd Annual Arts Awards, I’m honored to invite you to Brighter Together, a celebration of our city’s vast cultural accomplishments. This year, we’ve enhanced what some say is Jacksonville’s biggest and brightest night out.

Join me on Saturday, May 5 at TIAA Bank Field for our awards program and a seated dinner, featuring a delicious meal and table service, followed by a don’t-miss after party.

Our Master of Ceremonies is American poet, playwright, and journalist, Al Letson. Our art installations, created by Castano Group, will be the largest and boldest of any Arts Awards in our 42 year history. After the celebration, swing to the Chris Thomas Big Band and party with our DJ/VJ duo of Geexella and Willie Evans Jr.

The most important part of the night will be reflecting on and celebrating our cultural community, which works tirelessly to make Jacksonville such a great place to live. I look forward to seeing you at this epic event.

Sincerely,

Abel Harding
