Jacksonville Sheriff T.K. Waters has come out against a proposed constitutional amendment that would legalize recreational cannabis in Florida by voter referendum this November. Waters says if Amendment 3 passes, he will increase DUI patrols in Jacksonville to crack down on driving under the influence of cannabis.
Meanwhile, Mayor Donna Deegan came out in support of the amendment. She says “people should be free from government interference if they aren’t putting the public in danger or disrupting the community.”
