The Parlour: Jacksonville’s secret speakeasy

One of the best kept secrets in Jax is The Parlour.
The Parlour is also one of the best craft cocktail bars to be found in North Florida.
It’s a an old school cocktail bar with the heart of a speakeasy. It is  located behind the Grape and Grain on Balis Place in San Marco Square, Jacksonville.

You no longer have to know the secret password to get in, at least on most nights. You can use the side entrance or for the adventurous looking for a challenge, find the passageway from the Grape and Grain. The Parlour operates under the Garden to Glass concept. An offshoot of sorts from the Farm to Table movement. Their cocktail program works with local farms and utilizes seasonal ingredients to produce superior cocktails. Their efforts are readily noticeable, both in taste and quality as well as their menu which changes with the local growing seasons.

The Parlour has also been recognized by Slow Foods First Coast as the first cocktail bar to be awarded a “Snail of Approval” for their work with local farms. Reservations are a good idea, especially on music nights and weekends. The Parlour may well be a secret but she sure fills up quickly.
