The fourth annual Jacksonville PorchFest will take place November 4, 2017 in Jacksonville’s oldest neighborhood, Historic Springfield.
Porchfest is jacksonville’s largest community music festival. Attendees stroll from porch to porch and “camp out” on front lawns as they enjoy live, local music. This year there will be over 30 bands on porches Porchfest 2017 will feature a noon performance by Kim Reteguiz and the Black Cat Bones and an evening show headlined by Big Sandy and His Fly-Rite Boys in historic Klutho Park,
Other local talent will include; singer-songwriter Mike Shackelford, blues and gospel singer Mama Blue, jazz band Junco Royals, indie folk band Folk is People, and The Chris Thomas Band.
Out of town musicians include; The Duffy Bishop Band, a blues group from Portland, Oregon,The Broomestix, a funk-soul band from Nashville and the Ellameno Beat, a reggae band from Jensen Beach.
Beer, wine and an assortment of food options will be available from some of Jacksonville’s best food trucks. Proceeds support continued arts programming in Springfield.
Food trucks and artisan booths open at noon, and porch performances run from 1 to 5. Maps of porches and performers are available at the corner of Third and Silver Streets in Klutho Park. Parking is available along Main Street and near Klutho Park at Florida State College at Jacksonville.
The event is FREE – dog, bike and family friendly. Bring a lawn chair! 12-9pm. Porchfest 2017 is hosted by Jacksonville PorchFest and Springfield Preservation and Revitalization (SPAR)
