Riverside Park
The park is made up of over 11 acres next to Park Street in the Five Points area of Historic Riverside in Jacksonville, Florida.
The park is the second oldest in the city, behind Hemming Park which is located downtown.
The Park originally had 14 acres when the property was donated to the city but with the development(s)
Of Margaret Street and Interstate 95 the park’s size was reduced.
The land was set aside to be used as a park in 1869. The city begin work on the park in the early 1890’s.
The park has a basketball court, benches, bike racks, picnic tables, a playground and a pond. The pond usually has a good variety of ducks, pigeons, other birds and turtles.
