The long running Jacksonville tradition, Oktoberfest/Bier-fest,originally hosted by Club TSI Discotheque and last hosted by Shantytown Pub , has a new home at Nighthawks.
The event runs from Sunday October 22 at 12 pm until Monday October 23 at 12 am.
A lot of time was spent drinking, I mean researching in the Bier halls, Gardens and Tents of Bavaria to bring you the most intimate, authentic & rowdy Oktoberfest around. This year expect more of the same from Jacksonville’s official Bierfest team.
All authentic, all DIY, all Bavarian all day long party. Gates openat Noon. All clay & glass bierware used, knackwurst, brats, sauerbraten, potato salad, blaukraut and more. Spaten & Erdinger Oktoberfest served.

Games
For the newcomers to Bierfest our Games consist of 4 person teams w/ a one female team member minimum. We have 3 qualifying events, w/the top 4 teams advancing to the finals.
The 1st event: barrel rolling.
Individual team heats, consisting of 4 legs, rolling a 30 liter keg 30 meters, then passing it off to the next teammate. Total of 120 meters, best cumulative time wins.
The 2nd event: Timed pint drinking. Team to team heats, best overall time wins. Each team member must drink 2 pints of beer in a down and back race, where the team anchor must drink them in succession. Best time wins.
The 3rd event: barrel toss. Each team member tosses the keg, the best individual throw represents the team. Think shot put. Best distance wins.
Finals: Das Boot, one way relay. After 3 events 3rd place faces off against 4th & 2nd place against 1st to determine the top 4 finishers of Bierfest. 1st team to finish 2 liters from a glass boot wins. Each member only gets one chance/try @ the boot before passing off.
