New Voter ID cards have been mailed out to registered voters in Duval County, and yours might list a new voting precinct. A lawsuit last year claimed voters in Duval didn’t have equal access, as the number of precincts in each City Council district ranged from nine to 18. To settle the suit, the county agreed to ensure each district has 10 to 12 precincts. That means some people might have a more conveniently located polling place, but others might have to travel a little farther. The changes affect about 245,000 voters. If you’re one of them, your new voter card will let you know where to go on election day.
