Leonard Abess Park has a new splash pad

Check out the new splash pad that the JaxParks team installed at Leonard Abess Park (12743 Leonard Abess Blvd. 32225).
The park was named for Leonard L. Abess Sr., a prominent banker who was instrumental in providing the land to the City of Jacksonville for park development. Mayor Ed Austin and Councilman Dick Brown held a dedication/ribbon-cutting ceremony for the park on October 19, 1994. The park offers playscapes, grills, a picnic shelter, restrooms, 2 youth baseball fields, a basketball court, 2 tennis courts, a soccer field and paved trails. A new addition to the park is a colorful water feature.
