Sales tax breaks on school clothes, diapers, hurricane supplies and more are on the way after Gov. Ron DeSantis signed them into law yesterday along with a one-month break on the state gas tax, coming this fall.

Children’s books — May 14th-Aug. 14th, 2022

A range of hurricane supplies, including generators, radios and items for pets — May 28th-June 10th, 2022

Tickets for concerts, movies, sporting events and museum visits, as well as certain gear for outdoor activities — “Freedom Week,” July 1st-7th, 2022

Diapers — July 1st, 2022-June 30th, 2023

Baby and toddler clothing — July 1st, 2022-June 30, 2023

Energy Star appliances — July 1st, 2022-June 30th, 2023

Home “hardening” (like impact-resistant doors and windows) — July 1st, 2022-June 30th, 2024

Back to school holiday: clothes and shoes that cost $100 or less, school supplies that cost $50 or less and personal computers with price tags of $1,500 or less— July 25th-Aug. 7th, 2022

Tools and other work equipment — Sept. 3rd-9th, 2022
The state will suspend the gas tax all month in October, saving drivers about 25 cents per gallon.
