Bigger class sizes, longer bus rides and fewer COVID-19 restrictions await Jacksonville schoolchildren when the 2022-23 school year starts Monday in Duval Schools. With the district short by more than 400 teachers and 175 paraprofessionals, class sizes will be increased by an average of 1.5 students per class in elementary and middle school and one student per class in high school. Among other changes, families should prepare for longer bus rides and delays due to a driver shortage, and the district is shutting down its COVID case tracking dashboard. (The Florida Times-Union)
