All Civil War related monuments and markers on city property are to be removed, by order of Mayor Curry

Mayor Lenny Curry held a press conference on the steps of City Hall this morning, hours after city workers removed a Confederate monument from Hemming Park.

“Yesterday there was Confederate monument in this park. It’s gone. And the others in this city will be removed as well”, Curry said.

The mayor’s office is working with the cultural council to determine the best location for everything that’s taken down.The following markers and monuments are the set to be removed by the city. No information has been released as to what order they will be removed or what the timeline will be.
