Earlier today in Willow Branch Park the Aids Memorial Mural was unveiled. The mural is located facing into the park, on the side of the Park Street bridge, which crosses Willow Branch creek. The 45 names featured on this mural represent local Riverside/Avondale residents lost to AIDS related diseases over the years. The dedication included the reading of those names by select friends and family, accompanied by uplifting words of remembrance and prayer.
The mural is titled “Serenity” By Keith Doles, Artist and Zac Freeman of CoRK Arts District. Thank you to the AIDS Memorial Project of Northeast Florida, City Councilwoman Randy DeFoor, and JaxParks for your assistance with this wonderful addition to our community.
