It’s National Cancer Survivors Day® and we’re throwing the biggest party in Jacksonville to benefit Rocstart – Rallying for Oral Cancer Support Through ART!
National Cancer Survivors Day® is an annual, treasured Celebration of Life that is held in hundreds of communities nationwide, and around the world, on the first Sunday in June. It is a CELEBRATION for those who have survived, an INSPIRATION for those recently diagnosed, a gathering of SUPPORT for families, and an OUTREACH to the community.
We thought it the perfect day to help support Rocstart – Rallying for Oral Cancer Support Through ART!
ROCSTART is a local non-profit organization who’s mission is to raise awareness of Oral Cancer and provide support to Oral Cancer patients throughout their treatment.
The foundation was created by an oral cancer survivor, Cynthia Platt, who recognized a need for increased awareness of Oral Cancer within her community. Additionally, she found that even when a patient receives the best medical care available, the “little things” often fell by the wayside. The special needs of an Oral Cancer patient are many and are not always immediately identified, met, or covered by insurance. Dental care, xerostomia (dry mouth) products, radiation burn prevention – to name but a few.
We will be giving away really cool swag bags to the first 25 people. And for those who purchase tickets online, you will be entered to win a $400.00 gift certificate to be used in our Custom Woodshop. How cool!
