Jacksonville RollerGirls: Doing it for Duval

Jacksonville’s best kept sports secret, the Jacksonville RollerGirls have more wins than every other professional team currently playing in Jacksonville combined. They may be a secret in Jacksonville but talented skaters from around the world know and respect them.

They have consistently ranked among the world’s top teams since joining the Women’s Flat Track Derby Association and this weekend they play host to the 2015 International WFTDA D1 Playoffs at the Prime Osborn Convention Center.

The tournament kicked off in fine fashion today with the following results;
Game 1 – Steel City Roller Derby (#8) 209 v Pikes Peak Derby Dames (#9) 205
Game 2 – Glasgow Roller Derby (#7) 159 v Charlottesville Derby Dames (#10) 184
Game 3 – Atlanta Rollergirls (#4) 172 v Tampa Roller Derby (#5) 125
Game 4 – London Rollergirls (#1) 408 v Steel City Roller Derby (#8) 42
Game 5 – Denver Roller Derby (#2) 379 v Charlottesville Derby Dames (#10) 83
And the best for the last! Our home town RollerGirls had a great night.
Game 6 – Jacksonville RollerGirls (#3) 262 v Detroit Derby Girls (#6) 71

London Rollergirls and Atlanta Rollergirls both advance to Game 9 at 2:00 p.m. Saturday. Our Jacksonville RollerGirls and the Denver Roller Derby advance to Game 12 at 8:00 p.m. Saturday. The winners of those two games will meet Sunday 6:00 p.m. with the winner being named tournament champion.

Get over to the Prime Osborne and cheer on our hometown Jacksonville RollerGirls, they’re doing it for Duval and Duval needs to do a little something something for them too.

An added plus for all you Grease Rags Clothing Co fans, and really, who isn’t a fan.
They may be in between shops at the moment but they are vending at the Playoffs.
That’s what I call a win win situation and we want lots of win for our Jacksonville RollerGirls!
