I was over at the Phoenix Taproom Saturday night for Batch 19 presents Professor Whiskey’s Roaring 20’s Pre-Prohibition Party.
Phoenix Taproom is one of the better Speakeasies in the downtown area, surprisingly, considering how close it is to the Bible Belt that is First Baptist and all those prohibition supporters.
It was a hot night, due to all the fine tomatoes, flappers, hotsy totsy dames and Molotov Cocktail Party, not a wet blanket in sight.
I’ll be on the level with you, I wasn’t too sure about that new brew the boys were mixing up, that Batch 19; but it’s the Real McCoy, a bold, good drinking beer whether you just want one or two or if you want to get; spifficated, canned, corked, tanked, primed, scrooched, jazzed, zozzled, plastered, owled, embalmed, potted, lit, ossified, fried to the hat, or as they say in my joint, drunk. And at just two clams you can get a wiggle on fast.
And Professor Whiskey’s Traveling Bizarre Bazaar, they’re just the cat’s meow. Those dames were all dolled up and singing, dancing, hooping, that one, she was a real Bear-cat and they all had cherry chassis.
They tossed in a little magic and Who’s on First and I stayed for extra innings.
Attaboy Professor, nothing but bee’s knees and berries all night, not a beef in the joint.
The 77d’s hit on all sixes and that Molotov Cocktail Party? I’ll carry their torches anytime. What a ducky display they put on. I haven’t seen such a fire show since that one time in Chicago. What a swell night!
Professor Whiskey, Molotov Cocktail Party and company will be back at The Phoenix Taproom again on October 26, 2012, be a good bird and be there.
