Join the City of Jacksonville for the 35th Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Breakfast

The City of Jacksonville invites the community to celebrate the life, legacy, and service of Martin Luther King, Jr. at the 35th Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Breakfast, presented by Florida Blue virtually on Friday, January 14, 2022.

The virtual event will feature Mayor Lenny Curry and newly announced keynote speaker, Bonnie St. John. Despite having her right leg amputated at age five, St. John became the first African-American ever to win medals in Winter Olympic competition, taking home a silver and two bronze medals at the 1984 Paralympics in Austria.

Today, she is a best-selling author, keynote speaker, television and radio personality, business owner, and Fortune 500 leadership consultant. This year the celebration will be host by Dawn Lopez from Action News Jax and Anthony Austin from First Coast News.

The program will also recognize three local students as the 2022 Tomorrow’s Leaders presented by VyStar Credit Union. Tomorrow’s Leaders is a component of the breakfast that looks to recognize and award youth in the community who are exemplifying the philosophies of Dr. King through leadership, community volunteerism, and civic responsibility.
