Crews from the Jacksonville Fire Rescue Department have been asked to go to Louisiana and assist in the aftermath of Hurricane Ida. Mayor Lenny Curry released the following statement:
“As I said earlier this week, our Jax Fire & Rescue has been ready to respond when and if our crews were needed in Louisiana. Today, we received that call. On Sunday, we will deploy 24 firefighters along with fire engines, fuel trucks & additional equipment. They will assist with potential emergencies and possible fires in Thibodaux, La. as power is restored. I’d like to personally thank these heroes for volunteering to assist in this time of great need.”
Good luck, Godspeed, and come home safely. Thank you JFRD.
